Aunt Lou here.

I was going through my cabinets trying to figure out what to do with my monster pack of pork chops I got on sale. I had a few trips to the grocery store in a row where I happened to forget that I had stuffing at home. So, I literally had 4 or 5 boxes of stuffing in the lazysuzie. I thought that sounded good with pork chops, but what else…hmmm, there were my always-present cans of cream of mushroom soup. Then it hit me. Cris had made Crock Pot Chicken Stuffing Casserole that would work great with these pork chops!

I love that I had everything I needed right here at the house for this recipe. While I didn’t have chicken broth, I did have some chicken bouillon cubes in the cabinet to make some up with. I threw it together in no time flat. And even had time to throw together this Crock Pot Lemon Pepper Pork Chop recipe with the rest of my pork chops before the kids had meltdowns because mommy was cooking!

Ingredients for Crock Pot Pork Chop Stuffing

  • 1-2 lbs pork chops
  • 10.75 oz Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 6 oz Box Stove Top Stuffing
  • 2 Cups Chicken Broth (If you like drier stuffing reduce the broth to at least 1.5 cups)

How to Make Pork Chop Stuffing in a Crock Pot

  1. In a bowl mix stuffing and broth together and set aside.
  2. Place your pork chops in the bottom of your 6 qt slow cooker.
  3. Pour soup over your chops and spread evenly.
  4. Once stuffing has absorbed all of the chicken broth pour evenly on top.
  5. Cover with lid and cook on low for 4-6 hours

Crock Pot Pork Chop Stuffing Notes:

  • For this yummy Crock Pot Pork Chop Stuffing, I used my Hamilton Beach Programmable Insulated Slow Cooker because it is straight up awesome! You can use your favorite 5-6 quart slow cooker.
  • This recipe tends to be a little more moist than traditional stuffing casseroles, so if you prefer the drier texture, you may want to reduce your liquid in the recipe to at least 1.5 cups, however we like it as is.
  • As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

      Hi Christine!

I haven’t tried this recipe on high. If I did try it on high, I would cook it for 2-3 hours, watching it closely the first time I made it. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!

This recipe was and epic fail for me, I cooked it 6 hours on low and I’m guessing 4 hours would have been fine, maybe. My poor husband had only 4 Brussel sprouts for dinner.

I’m sorry this didn’t turn out well for you Grace. It does sound like you needed the lesser cooking time. Every slow cooker cooks differently (believe me, Cris and I both have tons of slow cookers and have learned this the hard way!). We highly recommend watching a recipe closely the first time you make it so you know how your particular slow cooker cooks the recipe. I hope you find a recipe in our over 1,000 recipes that you love!

I cooked the pork chops on low for 4 hours, they came out a little dry. Did I do something wrong? Other than that it was really good!

      Hi Maria!

It sounds like your slow cooker cooks a little hotter than mine. Next time, check your pork chops with a meat thermometer about an hour earlier. Make sure they are at the proper cooking temperature. If you cook them to just the proper cooking temperature, they should be nice and juicy. Hope this helps!

      Hi Jim!

This recipe uses boneless pork chops. Since this recipe has the stuffing in it, I wouldn’t recommend using bone-in chops. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

I put them in raw. If you want to brown them first, it might change the cooking time a bit, so keep a close eye on it the first time you try it.

Love this, but I accidentally bought bone-in chops, which needed more time to cook. My stuffing turned to mush. I had some stuffing cubes on hand, so I added those to absorb some of the liquid for the last 1/2 hour. Next time I’ll use boneless and cut the broth to about a cup. Easy breezy and delish, despite the Operator error.

This recipe sounds delicious would you be able too cook it on low longer if the pork chops were frozen instead of completely thawed out? Or just completely thaw them out first before cooking this? I just got 4 very big bone in pork chops from my grocery store abd was wondering thank yiu ☺🤤😋

It isn’t recommended to put meat in the slow cooker if it is frozen. Make sure it is completely thawed before cooking. Enjoy!

Will this freeze well? We do cooking nights at church for ‘care meals’ – Typically we’d freeze this in a crock pot liner with instructions on how to thaw and cook? Do you see any reason this wouldn’t freeze/thaw/cook well?

      Hi NanaMama-
We haven’t tested it as a freezer meal. I would be concerned the stuffing would lose its texture if you freeze it before cooking. I don’t know that for sure without testing though… Hope that helps.

    • Creek Run says

I’ve done this as a freezer meal, but what I did was put my pork (or chicken works too…I use boneless/skinless) in the bottom of the bag, then the soup (I used cream of onion and added about 1/2-3/4 cup milk to it)-into my soup I mixed a bag of frozen green beans). At this point, I sealed it up and froze it. Separately I froze my chicken broth in a freezer bag (I typically make my own, but you could certainly use store bought)…I then stuck my freezer bag of chicken broth with the other bag. Then I just make at note on it what I need to do (thaw broth, add to stuffing-kept separately, and put stuffing on top.) It sounds like a lot of steps, but when you’re making several of them at once it really isn’t.

Hi I just wanted to tell u guys that I tried ur biscuit and sausage gravy this morning for breakfast and the family LOVED it. Now I have the pork and stuffing in my crockpot for dinner. It smells amazing!
Now I have to tell u that I had a bad accident at work and hurt my dominant hand. After surgery I got very depressed and wasn’t moving out of bed for a couple of months while my hand healed up. Now I love to cook I even wrote a cookbook, my hubby couldn’t get me out of the kitchen. Well during that time frame,of being depressed, I stumbled across ur videos, and it gave me the passion to get back into the kitchen. Now my hand is still very swollen and doesn’t work like it used to but ur recipes r so wonderful and easy. Although I am picking up some of Mikey’s habits and my hubby who cleans up after I cook told me that this was the messy I have been. But I told him not to worry, “ I did it just like Mikey!” 🤪 Lol I love you guys ur the best ever, and my family thanks u for getting me back in the kitchen. 😍

    Hello,

I love the sound of this recipe, I have only one dilemma, my partner can not have onion and i know stove top has onion in it, is there a replacement idea other than making my own stuffing and if I did that should I not bake it and throw it in the crock pot? Not sure how to do this.

Thank you so much for your time.

Sounds amazing! I do the same type of thing with chicken. Place 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts in crock pot (cut into 1 inch pieces), make stuffing with water amount from side of box and 4 T butter (use any type of stuffing you have), spoon stuffing over chicken. In microwave, melt 4 T butter and an 8 oz jar of apricot preserves. Pour over stuffing. Cook on low for about 3-4 hrs. Serve over wild rice. Delish! Will try this pork chop version too!
