This is so tasty and makes a lot. We first ate with salad and tortilla chips….then another night we ate as a tortilla filling. It cooked well, looked nice. I substituted instant brown rice. Next time I think I’ll add a little more sausage. I sure love using my crock pots!

I want to try this one soon. It calls for 1 lb ground sausage. Is that roll pork breakfast sausage or ground Italian sausage. Want to be sure.

Hi Bev!
The first step of the recipe is to prepare the rice, so if you would prefer long cooking rice, just prepare it ahead of time and use it instead of the minute rice. Enjoy!

Can I use regular rice which I prefer? Is it still the same amount, uncooked? It sounds delicious.
