Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian bread cut into 1 inch slices
  • 8 oz pkg cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3-3.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 26 oz bag frozen Italian meatballs thawed
  • 24 oz pasta sauce
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  • Lightly spray a 9×13 pan and place a single layer of bread slices across the bottom
  • Mix together your cream cheese, Greek yogurt and seasonings in a bowl and spread your cream cheese mixture on your bread slices
  • Sprinkle 1 to 1.5 cup of your cheese on top of your cream cheese mixture
  • In a separate bowl, mix together your meatballs, sauce and water very gently
  • Then gently spoon and spread the meatball mixture evenly over cream cheese mixture
  • Top with the rest of your cheese
  • Bake in your oven for 30-35 minutes (Turn it about half way through cooking if your oven doesn’t cook evenly (like mine!). It is done when the cheese is melted and the edges start to turn golden.)

Notes

  • All ovens cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own oven and time adjusted as needed.
