Sprinkle your chicken with salt and pepper on each side
Brown your chicken on both sides
Place your browned chicken in your 6 quart crock pot
In a separate bowl, mix together the rest of your ingredients, (except corn starch, water and rice) and pour over chicken
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours
If thicker sauce is desired, remove chicken from crock pot and pour sauce into medium size saucepan and return chicken to crock pot (with the crock pot turned off) and put lid back on to keep chicken warm.
In a small bowl or coffee cup, mix together corn starch and water and pour into sauce, stirring until well combined
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently
Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes
Serve chicken with sauce over top, and over a bed of rice, if desired
Notes
The sauce isn't quite as dark as it is showing up in the pictures. For some reason, it looks darker in the photos than it does in real life.

As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.
