In a large skillet or browning slow cooker, brown meat and saute onions in bacon grease or butter until onions are tender and meat has browned a little.
Combine all ingredients into a 6-8 quart slow cooker, stirring to combine well.
Cook on low for 8-10 hours, stir and serve.
I used my 7 Quart Cuisinart Multi-Cooker to do both the browning step AND the slow cooking, however you can brown your meat in a skillet and transfer to a traditional 6-8 quart slow cooker if you do not have a multi-cooker.
We love the flavor of this low carb sauce, however it is expensive. If you are not eating low carb, feel free to use your favorite marinara sauce.
