Notes
This is NOT a copycat recipe of the takeout favorite that goes by the same name. This is simply called butter chicken because it is literally chicken cooked in butter.
We like to use boneless skinless thighs in this recipe, but you can use breasts if you prefer. They may cook faster, so make sure to keep an eye on them the first time and check for when the chicken is easily pulled apart with two forks. If it is hard to pull apart it needs to cook longer. However, do not cook breasts too long or they will become dry and chalky.
The broth from this chicken makes incredible soups.
We like to eat this chicken on its own as a main or in casseroles, sandwiches, wraps, salads or tacos.

As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.
