Notes
We have made this in a traditional 6 quart slow cooker and in the casserole crock. Depending on the amount of cabbage, the dish will likely take a bit longer in the casserole crock than a 6 quart. However, both types of slow cookers cook it up great.
If you are counting carbs, you might want to read all the labels in the smoked sausage section of your grocery store. We have found carb counts can vary greatly. The brand we use is Sam's Choice Beef Smoked Sausage. Personally, I think it tastes more like summer sausage than traditional smoked sausage. However, my family loves it.
All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.
