This Honey Garlic Chicken with Rice recipe takes one of my family’s all time favorite crock pot recipes and makes it into a stove top recipe. So yummy!
Place your cubed chicken in the bottom of your large skillet.
In a medium size bowl, mix together your honey, brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce and garlic until well blended.
Pour your sauce over your cubed chicken and stir.
Cover and cook over medium high heat for approximately 8 minutes, stirring at 4 minutes, until it comes to a full boil.
Stir, turn your heat down to simmer, covered, for 10 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes.
In a small bowl or coffee cup, mix together the corn starch and water until completely blended, pour into your skillet and stir.
Heat, uncovered, over medium high heat until it is at a rolling boil (about 3-5 minutes), reduce heat and cook at a simmer for approximately 5-10 minutes more, stirring continually, until it is just a little thinner than you want it. (It will thicken as it cools.)
Remove skillet from heat and let stand for 5-10 minutes.
Serve chicken and sauce over a bed of rice.

All stove tops cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own stove top and time adjusted as needed.
