Put everything in your crock pot EXCEPT your milk and cheese
Gently mix it up
Cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours or high for 3-4 hours
When you have an hour left, stir in your milk
Serve with cheese sprinkled on top, if desired
This is one of those fun recipes that you can easily cater to your family's wants and needs. If you guys devour carrots, add some more! If you are big onion fans, use some more! If you don't need quite so many servings, cut the recipe down. You get the idea! I love when a recipe is so easy to adapt to what my family needs!
The original recipe called for a carrot, but I had baby carrots on hand, so that is what I used. With all the veggies in this recipe, it is a great way to get your family to happily eat their veggies!
For this Crock Pot Sausage Potato Soup, I used good ol' Sir Hamilton (my Hamilton Beach Programmable Insulated Slow Cooker). If you don't have your own Sir Hamilton (click through that link and go get you one...he is my favorite!), then you can use a 5-6 quart slow cooker.
