I have made this recipe more times than any other crockpot recipe. WAY more times. No idea what makes it so good, but everybody loves it every time. The only adjustment I ever make is kielbasa instead of smoked turkey. One caution...you WILL eat too much!

Ever had a recipe "get away" from you? My Wife and I found this recipe on YouTube, and right next to this recipe was someone else's which had potatoes, carrots, cabbage and kielbasa. So we decided to combine the recipes. Along with a couple extra items. Somehow, our 10 Qt. Crockpot ran out of room, so we switched to an 18 Qt. Electric Roaster. lets see...5 lbs. potatoes, 2 lbs. baby carrots, 2 large onions, 2 large green peppers, 3 lbs. Cabbage, 1 lb. mushrooms, 2 large cans sauerkraut, 40 oz. green beans, and 4 packs of kielbasa. 5-1/2 hrs. at 250F. Came out perfect ! We'll be changing/adding ingredients next time we make this. Thank you very much for this recipe.

Made many different versions of this recipe from this site in the last year.
Used Andouille Sausage once ,worked out great.
JMHO...spicier , or meat with a stronger flavor really kicks it up a notch.

Gonna make a ''version'' of this next week.
Bought Andouille sausage and Kielbasa , red potato's ,Italian cut green beans and a big onion.
Like my meat with a bit of a kick.

As start ''crockpotting'' 15 months ago (found yer site at the same time) have made countless
recipes found on your site.
Some exactly as written, some I experiment with, not one disappointed! ;)

I grew up with this meal. Marines eat it, so Marine families eat it. We sometimes use ham instead of sausage especially after Easter using up leftover ham. I can't use canned vegetables because I taste the aluminum, something to do with my epilepsy. So I use fresh or frozen and use chicken broth. I love to use red potatoes! I also use a no salt seasoning that has multiple spices. Always make cornbread with it, sometimes with salsa in it for a little kick! 😁
