If you are looking for a make-ahead treat that will give you breakfast all week, then you don’t want to miss this Crock Pot Glazed Breakfast Bars recipe!
In a large bowl, mix together your butter and sugar until it is almost fluffy.
Add in your eggs, orange juice concentrate and orange zest and beat until well combined.
In a separate bowl, mix together your flour and baking powder.
Add your flour mixture to your butter mixture and mix until well combined.
Crunch up your cereal as you stir it in.
Spoon into a slightly greased 6-quart slow cooker and spread out evenly.
Put a few paper towels under your lid, cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours, turning your insert halfway through if your crock pot cooks unevenly.
It is done when it can pass the toothpick test.
Once your breakfast bars are done, take the insert out and let them cool.
While they cool, mix together your powdered sugar, milk and almond extract.
When the bars are cooled, pour your glaze evenly over top and let set.
Cut into bars and store in an airtight container
Notes
In order to make this in my 6-quart slow cooker, I had to double the original recipe. If you don’t need as many bars and have a mini casserole crock, or something similar, I would guess you could cut the recipe in half. (If you give it a try, let me know how it goes in the comments down below!)
As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.
