Mix together all your ingredients in a 6 quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours, stirring halfway through cooking if possible.
Serve as is or with optional garnish of shredded cheddar cheese and/or crushed saltines or oyster crackers.
