Place your 1/2 lb ground beef (browned and drained) in a lightly greased 2.5 quart, 3 quart OR 4 quart crock pot.
Pour in your 1/4 cup water, 7 oz tomato puree (this is 3/4 cup, plus 2 tablespoons), 1 tablespoon taco seasoning and give it a good stir.
Cover and cook 2 to 3 hours on low or 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes on high, stirring halfway through the cooking time if your slow cooker does not cook evenly.
Serve on buns with cheese slices, if desired.
