Place a 5 lb Whole Chicken in the insert of a 6 Quart Crock Pot.
Pour 1/2 cup melted butter evenly over the chicken.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon Old Bay evenly over the chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, rotating your insert halfway through the cooking time, if your slow cooker does not cook evenly. It is done when the internal temperature of the chicken reaches at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
If desired, carefully remove the chicken (it will be hot enough to burn you) from the insert and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and broil for approximately 2-3 minutes, watching continually, until the skin reaches desired browning and crispness.

As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.
