Updated now with a video from Mikey.

Cris here.

Every once in a while Mikey and I get emails from readers and our YouTube Community (they call themselves the Crock Posse ;)) sharing with me some of their personal tried and true slow cooker recipes. We LOVE it when you guys send us recipes. (If you have a recipe you would like us to try, send it to: Cris@RecipesThatCrock.com. We try them out and sometimes they make it on the website and eventually even the cooking show on YouTube.

Such is the case of this yummy Crock Pot Chicken Divan Recipe sent to us all the way from Australia by Crock Posse Member Sarah! We tested it out and will be sharing it on an upcoming show (coming soon) as well as here today!

This dish is fantastic and we love the way you can alter the spiciness of it my adding or reducing the amount of curry you add to the recipe. Thanks for sharing Sarah!

Ingredients for Crock Pot Chicken Divan

2 lbs chicken breast or chicken tenderloins
2 10.5 oz Cans Cream of Chicken Soup
2 tablespoons Mayo
1-2 teaspoons Curry Powder
1/2 cup  Chicken Stock

16 oz Bag Frozen Broccoli Florets- Thawed

How to Make Chicken Divan in a Slow Cooker

  1. Place your chicken and broccoli in the bottom of a 4-6 quart slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl mix together soup, mayo, curry powder(*SEE NOTE) and stock.
  3. Pour mixture over the top of your chicken,
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. (If using tenders or if your slow cooker cooks hot, your dish could be done in as little as 4-5 hours).

Notes on Crock Pot Chicken Divan

  • Sarah recommends that you use 1 teaspoon of curry at first and taste to make sure it is not too spicy before adding anymore. My family enjoyed 2 teaspoons but I could see some families that love spicy foods wanting to add even a little more.
  • Sarah recommends serving this over rice, mashed potatoes or pasta. We loved it all on its own as well.
  • This recipe will cook up nice in any 4-6 quart slow cooker, however, it is also a great recipe for the Casserole Crock.
  • If you don’t like canned cream soups, you could always use our homemade versions.
  • As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

Do you think there is anything that I could use as a substitute for the mayo? I would love to try this but I am allergic to eggs.

This sounds delish… But I don’t see any broccoli… I’m thinking I could add half the bag at the beginning, and then the rest halfway through. Maybe? 🙂

It’s that green stuff in the picture. How can you not see any broccoli?? I have a great oven version of Chicken Divan that I fix for special occasions. Can’t wait to try this. Easy enough for any day.

Hi Jennifer, I read where you put the chicken and broccoli (a 16 oz bag of frozen broccoli florets, thawed) in bottom of slow cooker first. This sounds so good!

My apologies Jennifer, I misunderstood your comment. Broccoli does tend to get too soft and kinda dissappear in a recipe sometimes. I bet your suggestion would work fine.

We love hearing from you, it totally makes our day! Please remember, our comment section is much like our dinner table... You don't have to like everything we serve up, but you do have to use your manners.
