Sponsored Post Note: When Kroger contacted me and asked me to share a recipe with my readers in a sponsored post about their new Board to Table app in iTunes, I was intrigued. Then they explained their new app makes menu planning on Pinterest a whole lot easier, I was totally game.

Update: It appears that the app is no longer available in the app store.

Recipe Notes for Taco Bake

  • Since I was making my Crock Pot Taco Bake in my casserole crock, I doubled the original recipe. I also changed how I cooked it just a wee bit since I was using a slow cooker instead of the oven.
  • We like to serve this recipe over lettuce with our favorite taco toppings and it tastes a bit like a walking taco- yum!

  • As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

Could this recipe be halved and cooked in either a 2.5 or 4.5 qt.slow cooker? If so, which size would work best? Thanks!

    1. 5 stars
      Hi Shirley!

I think it should cook up nice in the mini casserole or a 4.5 quart. It might get done quicker in the 4.5 quart, so I’d just keep my eye on it. Enjoy!

    where is printable reipe?

      Hi Shel-
If you look at the bottom of the post there is a section labelled printable recipe. The print button is right under the stars located under the tiny image of the recipe. Hope that help!

  3. Can you also share the oven directions since you say you changed it up a bit. Thanks.

    1. Thanks so much. I will make this this week. Since I work, I need recipes that are either quick to prepare or can cook all day and by all day, it needs to be from 7:30 am-7 pm. This one fits the quick to prepare in the oven version. Yum.

    Hi Deanna-
I think you are thinking of our Taco Casserole. This is a similar but different recipe. Both are definitely keepers! Enjoy!!

  5. Hi Chris,
Didn’t this recipe used to have “pork & beans” in it? I have made this and it was great.
I didn’t add the water or milk though. I used salsa with the taco mix to mix with the ground beef. Yummy!
