Do you like to take your slow cooker on the go with you? The makers of the Hold and Go Slow Cooker recently sent me one of their units to give a try and I have to tell you, this baby has been with me to every potluck I have been to since!
Cris here. I have a confession.ย I have a lot of slow cookers…
No really. A LOT.
Now before anyone judges me… I do run a slow cooker website and cook regularly with 3-4 different slow cookers at a time. And, I like to try new features on slow cookers to share them with you… all in the name of being a resource for you. ย **Sigh** It’s a tough job, but someone needs to do it. I am here for you ;). (And yes, I realize those shelves are extremely messy… #RealLife)
So when the folks with the Hold and Go Slow Cooker contacted me and asked if I was willing to give their unit a try, I told them they could send it but that I would only share it with you if I liked it. They accepted the challenge and sent it along. (Note: While I did receive a unit to test, I did not receive any additional payment for this review.)
When it arrived, I was traveling a lot so it sat on my floor, in the box, until one day when my girlfriend called and said she was having some folks over and asked me to bring something… And then I realized I had the perfect opportunity to give this sucker a try.
I threw in the ingredients and didn’t really think a lot more about it. Then it was time to rush out the door. I was carrying my purse, water bottle and three bags of groceries and needed to get the slow cooker to the car when I discovered the ingenious design of the Hold and Go Slow Cooker… it can be carried with one hand. Heck, it can be carried on your arm if need be while carrying additional bags.
And, we aren’t talking carried anxiously teetering on one hand. We are talking securely, swing that puppy around and that lidย ain’t going anywhere kind of one hand.
I was impressed. It was easy to operate and the lid was super secure.
Then, when I got to the party I realized the handle turned into a lid holder.
Brilliant.
Hold and Go Slow Cooker
So what are my pros and cons with this unit?
Cons
- It is not programmable ๐
- With such a brilliant traveling concept, I wish it had a cord winder or a place to wind the cord.
Pros
- The 5 qt size is perfect for a lot of dips and party foods. It also makes carrying with one hand doable.
- That handle is ah-mazing. ONE handed carrying has me sold.
- Love the lid holder.
- The unit we tried cooks true to temperature and isn’t boiling hot on every setting like some units.
- The lid securing levers are super easy to use and are very secure.
The Bottom Line
If you take your slow cooker to potlucks, family gatherings or office parties often, I would not hesitate to recommend the Hold and Go Slow Cooker.

This is Amazing !!!! I would just about do anything to win one of these….I make a lot of dinners in my slow cookers for our church dinners, and when we have Bible studies…Also when we have anyone in the church who has surgery , all of us ladies sign up to make dinners for them, so the family can still have delicious dinners even when one of them are recuperating….The same with anyone who has a death in their family, we make and bring them food….This would make it that much easier to make food in..Just fill it, turn it on, dinner is ready….
