This crock pot side dish recipe is great for a potluck or family dinner. Crock Pot Bacon Green Bean Cabbage has that flavor that reminds me of the old fashioned side dishes grandma used to make. You won’t believe how easy it is to throw together! And, bonus… it is a great low carb side dish!

How to Make Bacon Green Bean Cabbage in a Slow Cooker
Cris here.
I just love this dish. It is a regular side dish around here. Oftentimes I will make up and big pot and divide up portions for lunches and dinners throughout the week. I even have tossed some in my freezer to be able to pull out on super busy nights.
This recipe makes a TON. If you want less, just cut the recipe in half and cook in a 4 quart slow cooker.

Hi KB-
Have you tried our salsa?
https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/homemade-crock-pot-salsa/
I was just wondering could you use kielbasa or ham hocks instead of bacon.
Absolutely! Just note that if you are counting carbs, the kielbasa will add quite a bit.
The 38 oz of Italian green beans, canned? or frozen? or fresh?
Canned- undrained.
Just curious, but why do you need so much liquid? It sounds delicious but more like soup.
Hi Alisa-
We serve with a slotted spoon, like most of our veggie sides. I have tried cooking cabbage with less liquid in the past and have had trouble with it burning, instead of boiling up.
Thank you! Good to know!
I like using the crockpot when I have company. As diner is cooked when they get hear.
Me too!
Thanks for posting more low carb recipes!!!!
No problem! My family is eating low carb everyday, so I am happy to share our favorites!
Have you made this with fresh green beans? How much liquid would you use and would you use chicken broth or a vegetable broth?
