Are you looking a simple but oh-so delicious hot chocolate recipe? Look no further. This is The BEST Crock Pot Hot Chocolate.
It is true… I have taken it upon myself to test out a bagillion hot chocolate recipes… I know, I know… it is a tough job but somebody HAS to do it.
And this one — from Gooseberry Patch’s Slow Cooker Fall Favorites (with a small but essential tweak from yours truly) is The BEST Hot Chocolate that I have ever had…
The BEST Crock Pot Hot Chocolate
It is so good that I would serve it in my coffee shop if I owned a coffee shop… which truth be told would be a really odd thing for me to own since I don’t like coffee BUT if I did find myself the owner of a coffee shop, that would be alright as long as I could serve this too because this is all I would want to drink anyhow.
Now that we got that all out of the way how about a recipe? Like most really great recipes, this one only calls for a handful of ingredients and yet it is OH-SO good!!
- 7½ Cups Whole Milk
- ½ Cup Baking Cocoa
- ⅛ tsp Salt
- 1½ tsp Vanilla Extract
- 14 oz Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Combine cocoa and salt together in the crock.
- Add vanilla and gradually pour in milk while mixing to combine well.
- Add sweetened condensed milk and stir well.
- Cover and cook on high for 2 hours.
Slow Cooker Recommendations
Any crock pot will cook this recipe up nicely. I personally prefer my automatic stirring slow cooker. It automatically stirs every two hours but for this recipe I just hit the manual button when I walk by it to stir things up nicely without ever having to open the lid!
