After our recent review of the Ninja Foodi, many Crock Posse members reached out to me and asked of our Electric Pressure Cooker Pork Chili Verde Soup recipe we were cooking in the review video. So we are sharing it today. This is our electric pressure cooker version on our Crock Pot Pork Chili Verde. We have made it in our Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot and Crock Pot Express… did I mention we love this recipe?
Electric Pressure Cooker Pork Chili Verde Soup (Low Carb) Notes
- We adapted our Crock Pot Pork Chili Verde Soup (Low Carb)(inspired by a recipe found in Easy Low-Carb Slow Cooking) to make this Electric Pressure Cooker Pork Chili Verde Soup (Low Carb) Recipe.
- We have made this soup in our 6 quart Instant Pot, Crock Pot Express and 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi, but you can make it in any 6-8 quart electric pressure cooker.

How to Make Pork Chili Verde in an Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi or Crock Pot Express Electric Pressure Cooker
Electric Pressure Cooker Pork Chili Verde (Low Carb)
Ingredients
- 16 oz Jar Salsa Verde
- 2.5 lbs Pork Shoulder Steak
- 3 Tablespoons Butter or Bacon Fat
- 2 Anaheim Chile Peppers seeded and chopped
- 4 Cups Chicken Broth
- 4 oz Can Chopped Green Chilies undrained
- 6 Slices Crisp Bacon
- 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
- 2 Tablespoons Dried Minced Onion
- 2 Tablespoons Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 Cup Sour Cream plus garnish
- Garnish- Sour Cream Avocado, Lime
Instructions
- Place pork in 6-8 quart electric pressure cooker and add all remaining ingredients except for sour cream and garnish.
- Cook under high pressure for 30 minutes and allow to naturally release for 15 minutes.
- Remove bones from soup and stir gently to break up pork.
- Stir in 1 cup of sour cream and serve in bowls topped with garnish.

Thanks for getting back to me. We had it last night and it was great. Very easy to make and since there are only two of us we have leftovers for tonight, which makes this very economical.

In the ingrrdients you say 10 oz. Salsa vrrde – divided, but I don’t have see any reason in the directions. Why should it be divided, and how should it be used?

Is a pork shoulder steak sold by any other name? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a cut. I’ve definitely never cooked one. thanks. This recipe sounds delicious and I’m always looking for new things to try in my Instant pot.

You usually find them near pork chops, they look similar but are much longer. Here is what wikipedia says about alternative names: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pork_steak
