Aunt Lou here.
We have some roasts down in our freezer that need made up. This was something Michael threw together with just what we already had in our cabinets and in the fridge. It was super simple to make and delicious, just like you would expect a crock pot roast to be!

How to Make a Simple Roast in a Crock Pot
Layer your potatoes, onions and carrots in the bottom of your 6-quart crock pot. Sprinkle your garlic salt, pepper, salt and parsley flakes evenly over your veggies. Lay your roast on top over everything and sprinkle your gravy packet on top. Pour your water around the roast (being careful to not wash the gravy mix off of your roast) until just the top of the roast is showing. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, until your roast and veggies are fork tender.
Notes:
- Any roast will do, with cooking it slowly all day, it will become tender.
- Check out our favorite Slow Cookers, Pressure Cookers, Multi-Cookers and Air Fryers in our Amazon Influencer Shop.
- As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
- All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

Where do u buy this gravy packet. Don’t think I’ve ever heard of mushroom gravy packet
Aunt Lou says
Hi June!
In our local grocery store, the mushroom gravy packets are next to the other seasoning packets (brown gravy, chili, taco seasoning, etc.). If you can’t find a mushroom gravy packet, you can substitute a brown gravy packet. I haven’t tried it with a brown gravy packet, but think it will work.
