Cris here.  As many of you know, we have been working on converting some of our favorite crock pot recipes into Instant Pot recipes for those of you who enjoy using electric pressure cookers. Here is a current list of all our electric pressure cooker recipes so far. (Now as always, we are committed to only sharing electric pressure cooker recipes that we already have slow cooker versions on the site version so that those that don’t have an Instant Pot can still cook along… we are a slow cooker site after all 😉)

So we recently began testing our family (and reader) favorite: Crock Pot Unstuffed Cabbage Soup.

Crock Pot Unstuffed Cabbage Soup has all the delicious flavor of stuffed cabbage with none of the mess! So simple to throw in the slow cooker and it is the perfect all day recipe.

Unstuffed Cabbage Soup Electric Pressure Cooker Recipe

We absolutely LOVE this recipe and after trying our Electric Pressure Cooker Vegetable Soup, I KNEW I wanted to try Unstuffed Cabbage Soup in my Instant Pot next.

I have tried this in both my 6 quart Instant Pot and my 6 quart Farberware Electric Pressure Cooker. Both times with great success.

This cabbage lover loves how quickly the electric pressure cooker can make the cabbage tender.

Chris this soup sounds really good and i want to make it in my instant pot but ran into one problem. The only pearl barley around here isn’t what I would call a quick cooking barley as it says 45 minutes on your stove so do you think it would be done just throwing it in my instant pot with everything else or should I cook it seperate.I was hoping to keep it all in one pot but now I am not sure about the pearl barley. What should I do? Thanks for any help! Cynthia
