How to Make Asparagus in an Air Fryer or Air Fry Oven
Cris here. I have been doing a lot of testing of my air fryers lately and I had to share with you one of my new favorite (low carb) recipes that everyone in the family LOVES!
I love how tender (yet crispy) asparagus gets in the air fryer, so I decided to try an old oven recipe I used to make ages ago and the results were fantastic! And, better yet, it was so simple! Here’s what you need…
What You Will Need
Ingredients Needed
- 1lb Fresh Asparagus
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- Salt
- 6-7 Slices of Bacon
- Optional: Parmesan Shavings
Equipment Needed
- Mixing Bowl
- Air Fryer, Air Fry Oven, Ninja Foodi or other unit with air frying feature.
- Air Fry or Crisping Basket (that comes with your air fryer)
- Optional: Dripping Pan for some makes and models
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 5- 10 minutes
- Cooking Time (per batch): 10 minutes plus 2-5 additional minutes
Notes on Air Fryer Asparagus Bacon Bundles
- We prefer to make these bundles in our Ninja Foodi Air Fry Oven because we can spread them out nicely in the air fry tray and cook them all in a single batch. You can use any air fryer, however, make sure they are spread out and cook in batches if necessary to allow the air to circulate well during cooking.
- Cooking times will vary depending on the thickness of your bacon and diameter of your asparagus. Always keep a close eye on them while air frying.
- If your unit tends to smoke when cooking bacon, it will likely smoke while cooking this dish. Add a little water to the drippings pan to help reduce smoke. If using the same air fry oven we do, you can use the cooking tray as a drip pan to protect your elements.

- As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. - Finally, all air fryers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own air fryer and time adjusted as needed.
