How to Make Savory Sausage Slaw in a Slow Cooker
Cris here.
I have heard dishes like our Crock Pot Savory Sausage Slaw called everything from unstuffed egg rolls to crack slaw, but in our house we just call it sausage slaw. We LOVE this savory hearty one pot meal and everyone fights over the leftovers which are arguably even better the next day! I love it when a dish this good is also low carb. Our carb loving friends never suspect this dish of being low carb ;).
Notes on Crock Pot Savory Sausage Slaw
- We used 2 lbs of ground sausage in our recipe. If you would like less meat and more slaw, you can reduce it down to a pound.
- Our favorite bagged slaw to use in this recipe is the tri-color slaw, but you can use any shredded cabbage.
- We used our Ninja Multicooker Slow Cooker to make this dish but you can use any 6 quart slow cooker.

What Home Cooks are Saying
“Nice method for a favorite. I didn’t find it too salty at all with regular soy sauce”
Karen
“I have made this dish twice now and my hubs and I both love it! It’s so easy to throw together, and it doesn’t take all day to cook. My crock pot seems to do better on low setting using the high setting time. I guess it’s one of the “cooks hotter” ones you sometimes mention. I think I might try this with hoisin sauce as a variety version. Low carb is just icing on the cake. Wait! Icing isn’t all low carb. Forget I said that! 😉”

ONE OF MY FAVE RECIPES…I LOOKED AT OTHERS BUT THIS IS THE BESTEST
I have made this dish twice now and my hubs and I both love it! It’s so easy to throw together and it doesn’t take all day to cook. 😉
I tend to use Liquid Aminos instead of soy sauce in many recipes. It works just as well and there isn’t the salt issue.
Started to make this and realized I was out of sausage. Worked really well with Ground Chicken instead. And I was out of soy, so i added a touch of housin sauce. Gave it a different spin but still delicious.
Rule #1- make sure you have all of the necessary ingredients.
Rule #2- If you forget ingredients, get creative. 🙂
Why is Mike’s apron so short?
I figured he either had a sudden growth spurt, or he grabbed Miss Addie’s apron by mistake! LOL
Hi Dave-My guess is he grabbed one that the neck is adjusted for me or Add and didn’t readjust. 😉
I’m not a sausage fan. Could I use ground beef?
Hi Rachelle-
Absolutely. Enjoy!!
