How to Make Biscuits & Gravy in an Air Fryer
Cris here.
When we RV, I regularly make my family biscuits and gravy. But considering my camper oven is a total pain, I usually have to make my gravy on the stove and then make some biscuits in my air fryer. But that takes up a lot of real estate in my tiny little kitchen. So, since I test a lot of recipes for the camper when we are at home, I stared wondering if I could make it all in the air fryer at once. After 3 colossal fails I finally figured out the perfect biscuit to gravy ratio AND the method that I absolutely love for getting the biscuits buttery golden and the gravy bubbling hot.
Air Fryer Biscuits & Gravy (Low Carb) Notes:
- We like to use the barrel pans to make this dish.
- You can make this dish in a traditional air fryer OR Ninja Foodi using the air crisp feature.
- CarbQuick is the mix we use to make the biscuit topping low carb.
- If you are not eating low carb, you can use your own prepared biscuit mix or dough. Just make sure to crumble it on top and not in full biscuit form.
- We use Xanthan Gum to thicken sauces and gravies in low carb cooking. You can leave it out in many cases, but the gravy may be thin.

- As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
- All air fryers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own unit and time adjusted as needed.

Instructions
- Mix gravy ingredients together in a bowl and transfer to an air fryer safe pan. We use our barrel pans.
- Prepare biscuit topping by first working butter into CarbQuick until crumbly.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix well until a dough forms.
- If dough is too crumbly, add a little more water, a tablespoon at a time, until dough holds together
- Break dough into small pieces and cover gravy mixture completely with biscuit pieces, layering on top of other pieces until all dough is in the pan.
- Air fry or Air Crisp at 350 for 15 minutes and check to see if done. Gravy should be bubbling and biscuit topping should be golden.

I have my CarbQuik, I have my sausage and ingredients and just waiting for my pan to arrive next week! I am so excited to try this recipe!
Hi Kelly!
I am so excited for you! I actually had it for breakfast again this morning. SO YUMMY!
The nutrition facts states 42g carbs. Is that correct? It seems really high. Maybe it should be 4.2g?
Hi Michelle-
It is 42g, however, 35g of that is fiber ( Carbquick is primarily fiber). So the recipe is 7g NET carbs using the auto-calculation. We ALWAYS recommend figuring your own nutritional info with the exact ingredients you use at home. Hope that clears things up. Enjoy!
My husband loves biscuits and gravy, so I will be trying this recipe. Just one question, I see that it serves 6. What is the serving size? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.Jean
Hi Jean-
I just cut it into 6 portions and serve. I then store the leftovers in serving size container to grab and reheat. Hope that helps!
This looks amazing for my type 2 hubby, I am trying to find recipes to help him cope with his new life style. He is doing so well. My “Instant pot” (Mine is a Mueller brand) but no Air Frier feature. I have Carbquick, how can I make this without an air fryer?
Hi Paula-
Several folks have asked me to convert this to use other methods. I will get in the kitchen and work on some adaptations for you guys. I want to test it before making recommendations because I don’t want to tell you guys wrong and have you waste those ingredients.
