I lead a moms group called Mommying Together. I learned from the first time we met at our house that not all kids like hot dogs (say what?!). So this time, I decided to also make something up. But what to make? I needed easy, but also something that everyone would like. And now you have this yummy Crock Pot Apple BBQ Chicken to add to your arsenal of quick, easy, delicious recipes!

Crock Pot Apple BBQ Chicken

Ingredients for Crock Pot Apple BBQ Chicken

  • 3.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 18 oz bottle bbq sauce
  • 2 cups apple butter
  • buns

How to Make Apple BBQ Chicken in a Crock Pot

  1. Place your chicken in a 6-quart crock pot (I used Cera, my 6 Quart Crock Pot with Ceramic Coated Pot)
  2. Mix together your bbq sauce and apple butter
  3. Pour your mixture over your chicken
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours
  5. Shred hot chicken with two forks or in your mixer
  6. Serve on your favorite type of bun

  • I had sandwich thins and buns available. You can serve this on your favorite buns.

  3. This sounds delicious and I want to try! Can anyone clarify the time on low? I see 4 hours and then I see 5 hours and 20 minutes in another spot.

      There was some kind of glitch on the recipe card. I’m so sorry about that! I have went in and fixed it. The cooking time is 4 hours on low. Enjoy!
