Aunt Lou here.
My good friend Krystal was having a bonfire for the youth group. Since I work with the teenage girls, then I had an invite as well. She had a yummy array of food prepared. I heard some people going on and on about how delicious the chili was and gave it a try. I immediately asked Krystal for the recipe. And you, dear readers, will now have a chance to try out this amazing Crock Pot Double Meat Chili yourself!

Crock Pot Double Meat Chili Ingredients
- 46 oz can of tomato juice
- 1-2 lbs of stew beef
- 1-2 lbs of ground pork sausage
- 14.5 oz can mild chili beans, drained
- 2 (14.5 oz )cans of diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- chili powder and cumin to taste (I used 6 tablespoons chili powder and 2 tablespoons cumin)
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 onion, chopped
- 5 beef bouillon cubes
- Optional: 2-5 teaspoons chopped jalapenos depending on how spicy you like your dishes
Instructions How to Make Crock Pot Double Meat Chili
- In a large skillet, fry up the beef and pork with your minced garlic, garlic salt and chopped onion
- Dump the entire pan in your crock pot, grease, juices and all
- Pour 3/4 or all of your can of tomato juice (depending on how soupy you like your chili) and remaining ingredients, using the chili powder and cumin to taste
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours
A few notes…Now as any good cook around these parts does (and probably most parts), when you ask for their recipe, there are never exact measurements. So take this recipe and make it your own. Do you like one of the spices more than another? Add a little more of this and a little less of that. That is what is so wonderful about a great recipe! For example, we left out the jalapenos since the ground pork sausage we were using was a little spicy. Part of what makes this chili so amazing is the two different kinds of meat. So don’t skimp. I promise it will be worth it! And lastly, I thought that I would give good ol’ Sir Hamilton a well deserved break and bring out Corky (my Hamilton Beach Multi-Quart Slow Cooker) for this recipe. You can use your favorite 6 quart slow cooker.

This chili sounds amazing! Two questions.. do you use ground loose sausage or links? And are the beef bouillon cubes thrown in whole or made into broth before?
Thanks Rose
Hi Rose!
I used ground sausage and just threw the bouillon cubes in. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

When you say pork sausage, do you mean Italian sausage or breakfast sausage?
Hi Karen!
I used a breakfast sausage. Enjoy!
Aunt Lou
I have made this many times and I always use a spicy Italian sausage, then I omit the chili powder. It’s ahhh-maxing 😊
I’m so glad you like it Megan! That sounds like a great alteration to the recipe!

I simply love a good bowl of chili! I have to ask though…6 TABLESPOONS Chili Powder? WOW, ya’ll some tough people! LOL I like Texas Pete and hot stuff but that might be a little much for me. So I’ll take your advice and add a little less of that.
I’m a member of the Crock Posse and a HUGE fan!! Thanks for all the great recipes!
Hi Kim!
How did it turn out for you? I love when you can take a recipe and make it your own with little adjustments here and there! I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
