Ya know, every time I make a recipe that involves ham and pineapple I am always reminded just how much I LOVE those flavors together AND how little I actually that combo in the kitchen.
Crock Pot Hawaiian Sandwiches
So, when I saw these Crock Pot Hawaiian Sandwiches in Gooseberry Patch’s new 101 Super-Easy Slow-Cooker Recipes Cookbook I had that duh moment of “why yes of course that is a great idea!”
I also just love that this recipe for 8 could easily be doubled or tripled for a great crock pot party dish.
Looking for a fun side? These Crock Pot Pineapple Baked Beans should pair with these sandwiches nicely–yum!
- 2 lbs cooked ham -thinly sliced
- 1/4 onion -chopped
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 Buns
- 15 1/4 oz can pineapple slices -drained
- Combine everything in slow cooker except pineapple and buns.
- Cook on low for 3-4 hours
- Serve on buns topped with pineapple.
