These chicken tenders are an adaptation of a grill recipe I have made for years. I love throwing them in the crock pot and letting it do all the work for me. You won’t believe how simple and flavorful this recipe is!
How to Make Italian Bacon Chicken Tenders in a Slow Cooker
Take your chicken tenders and cover with Italian dressing and wrap each tender in bacon and place in the bottom of a 6 quart slow cooker. We like to use a browning slow cooker so that we can do the final browning step all in the same pot. However, you can use a traditional slow cooker if you would like and then just finish up in a skillet. Pour remaining dressing over top and cook on high for 60-90 minutes. When tenders are fork tender, drain off juices and brown bacon on all sides on saute feature or in a skillet. Top with cheese and cook until melted. Serve with marinara sauce. (This is our favorite low carb sauce.)

This seems like such a small cook time in the crock pot. Is there a reason you use the crock pot and not just bake them in the oven? Wouldn’t the chicken cook in only about 30 minutes or so in the oven? Sound delicious and j can’t wait to try it.
Hi Angela-
Many of our recipes could be made in the oven, however, we like to show the crock pot method because many in our audience like to use our recipes when traveling. We have an oven in our RV but it is a pain to use, so the crock pot is much less of a hassle. We also have truck drivers that like to cook on the road too. Hope that clarifies things a little. Enjoy!
Can you tell me what kind of dressing do you use, is it dry or wet? I love your recipes, thanks for sharing.
Hi Tricia- We use wet dressing in this recipe. Enjoy!!
