How to Make Bacon Wrapped Party Sausages in a Slow Cooker

Aunt Lou here.

Recently, one of our readers, Marcia, asked about this recipe. I have made it with chicken before, but not sausages. It was one of those, “Why haven’t I done that yet?!” kind of moments. So here you have it folks. This is the perfect party, potluck or tailgate recipe! Everyone will love them!

Bacon Wrapped Crock Pot Party Sausages Notes:

  • You will want to line your baking sheet with foil for easy clean up when you are crisping up your bacon. Also, when you are using your broiler, I always recommend the “Pull up a chair and stare” method. If you take your eyes off of something in your broiler, it is very easy to go from perfection to disaster in a few seconds. So just watch it closely.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pkg bacon divided
  • 12 oz pkg cocktail sausages
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed

Instructions

  • Cut your bacon slices in thirds, set aside
  • Wrap one third piece of bacon around a sausage and place in the bottom of a 4-quart slow cooker. Repeat with half of your sausages.
  • Sprinkle half your brown sugar evenly across the top of your bacon wrapped sausages
  • Repeat steps 2 and 3 with your remaining ingredients. If your bacon and sausages don't come out evenly, it is okay. I just doubled wrapped a few of my sausages.
  • Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours
  • Place your bacon wrapped sausages on a foil or parchment paper lined baking pan, drizzle juices from crock pot over top of all of them and broil on high for 2-3 minutes, watching continually, to crisp up the bacon a bit

Notes

  • You will want to line your baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy clean up when you are crisping up your bacon. Also, when you are using your broiler, I always recommend the “Pull up a chair and stare” method. If you take your eyes off of something in your broiler, it is very easy to go from perfection to disaster in mere moments. So just watch it closely.
