Notes on Crock Pot Maple Praline Chicken Recipe
- Recipe from Gooseberry Patch’s Everyday Slow Cooker.
- I was making up a bunch of recipes, so I did some adjusting to this recipe so we didnโt have quite so many servings. If you need more servings, you can double this recipe and make it in a larger crock pot. You will just want to adjust your cook time and watch it closely the first time you make it.
- I have made this recipe twice. The first time, I used a 6-quart crock pot. This was NOT the correct size for the portions I had. It ended up turning the pecans black because I used the wrong size of crock pot. (I was going to take a picture for you to show you what NOT to do, but Michael ate the last chicken breast before I could get a picture! It still tasted alright, but it didnโt look so pretty.) So if you are using the exact recipe below, use a 3-4 quart crock pot. I used my 2.5-quart crock pot and it worked perfectly. Now, if you are doubling the recipe, then you can use a 5-6 quart crock pot.
- I used three chicken breasts the first time and two the second time. The reason for this is because the first ones were smaller than the ones that I used the second time. Use your best judgement. If you have huge chicken breasts, two will do. If they arenโt quite so big, then go ahead and use three.
- As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
- All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.
