Aunt Lou here.

My Dad loves peaches. Everything has to be peach when it comes to him. I am more of a cherry girl, but Cris’ Easy Peach Cobbler makes me think twice about skipping over a good peach dessert recipe. So when I saw this Crock Pot Peachy Dump Cake recipe from Gooseberry Patch’s Super Fast Slow Cooking, I knew I had to try it.

I am so glad I did too! Michael raved about it, and I enjoyed the wonderful flavors (and the praise from the hubs). With Thanksgiving coming up, I think this Crock Pot Peachy Dump Cake will be the perfect way for me to pitch in for dessert! (And Dad will be thrilled…daughter score. 🙂 )

How to Make Peachy Dump Cake in a Crock Pot

Spray your crock pot with cooking spray. Pour in your peach pie filling. Drizzle the lemon juice on top. Mix together the dry cake mix, melted butter and pecans in a bowl. This mixture is pretty thick, so I ended up placing the small chunks on top of the pie filling. Make sure you space it out evenly. Then put the lid on your crock pot and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours. If your crock pot runs hot, make sure you keep watch on it. The timing was perfect for my crock pot and didn’t need a minute over 2 hours. While it is nice and hot, serve it up with some yummy vanilla ice cream. The texture is perfect. The flavor is amazing with the peaches and pecans. And the ice cream is the perfect compliment. Yum!

I want to use the fresh frozen peaches that I have from last summer. Do you have any recommendations what adjustments I should make. I don’t want to buy a can of peach pie filling to avoid all the extra sugar. Would some cornstarch work to minimize the amount of liquid from the peach juices?

      Hi Ilona!

I haven’t tried this with fresh frozen peaches. However, if I did, I would put my peaches in a skillet and use cornstarch and water to make a roux with them before using them in the recipe. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out!

I made this but needed to omit the nuts so I added some golden raisins because I love them. Really good! I intend to try this exactly, with cherry pie filling and/or apple.

Love your recipes but it would be great if you would give the recommended crock pot size. Thinking about making this to take to our staff luncheon in December.

I used my 6 quart round slow cooker and it was the perfect size. Enjoy!
