Aunt Lou here.
Fall has finally arrived in Southern Indiana. While I will miss summer, I am trying to live in the moment and enjoy the blessing I have at this point in time…like sweatshirt, jeans and cowgirl boot weather! Which also means cider weather! Woohoo! And, even better yet, I finally beat Cris on a drink recipe! She always finds the yummy drink recipes and posts them for you guys before I can (insert little sister pout 😉 ). However, she couldn’t post this one…because I made up this recipe! My family loves when I make this. I hope you and yours enjoy it just as much!

Ingredients for Crock Pot Tropical Cider
- 11.3 oz mango nectar
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 4 cups apple cider
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
- Optional: 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- Garnish: orange slices
How to Make Tropical Cider in a Crock Pot
- Combine all of your ingredients except for your garnish and optional brown sugar in a 4-quart crock pot (I used Mr. Big, my 4-quart Crock Pot)
- Cover and cook on low until heated through, stirring occasionally
- Taste test (after blowing on it to cool it down!), if desired, you can add in the brown sugar and whisk until completely disolved
- Serve with a slice of orange
- Refrigerate leftovers in a covered container for up to 3 days
Crock Pot Tropical Cider Notes
- The recipe that started my journey to creating this recipe called for peach nectar, which I couldn’t find. So if you can find peach nectar instead of mango nectar, I need you to do two things for me. 1) Tell me where in the world you found it! 2)Give this recipe a try with peach nectar and tell me what you think!
- If you want to make it for just your family, then make this yummy cider as stated above. If you want to take this to a party or have it when you have company over, feel free to double or triple the recipe. Just make sure you adjust what size of crock pot you use so it will all fit comfortably!
- If you have a good, sweet cider, you probably won’t need the brown sugar. However, if you have a cheaper cider that doesn’t have as rich and full flavor (not that I would buy the cheap stuff or anything), the brown sugar will help the flavor pop out.
- The slice of orange isn’t just decorative. It is super delicious when you place it in the cider!
- As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
- All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

To whomever wanted to know where to get peach necter, it is the dollar store I get it there all the time.
Hey, Aunt Lou, you can find peach nectar in several brands (Jumex, Goya, Kerns, Knudson, all of which I have used and like) from places like Safeway, Walmart, Target and, of course, Amazon. 🙂
