Fried Chicken
Meatloaf always.
I don’t know what recipes are in the cookbook but two meals remind me of my momma and Sunday family dinner – lasagna and fried chicken with mashed red potatoes & creamy gravy. Both make me drool!!!!!
Pot Roast with mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables.
The dish that most reminds me of home is meatloaf. It has to have a side of mashed potatoes with lots of butter, greens and Jiffy mix cornbread. Top it all off with luscious peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream….mmmmmmm ๐
The front cover of your cookbook reminds me of home….LOVE fresh veggies!
Mom’s meatloaf is the best.
My favorite comfort food dinner is mini meatloaves, mashed potatoes, snap green beans, sweet corn bread and dessert, vanilla ice cream with fudge topping.
Fishcakes! Use Grouper cheeks or Cobia throat (so tender!), patty the cooked fish with grits, cornmeal, seasoning and egg. Fry, butter while still hot and serve with tomato gravy. SO good!
Because of the US Navy I am now a Northern transplant, so all the recipes remind me of my southern home.
roast, potatoes, green beans and coconut cake! YUM!
a roast cooked in the oven a popular Sunday lunch after church meal
my number one pick is the baby back ribs
Pork Roast with Vegetables. Comfort food indeed!
Love anything slow cooked but the baby back ribs are the very best
The Cajun chicken was amazing!!!! Can’t wait for the Mississippi mud cake!!! Sounds delicious!!!!! What’s better than an easy cake loaded with chocolate!!! Mmmmmmm
“Charcoal” steaks and overcooked veggies, were my mom’s specialty! ๐ No wonder I disliked so many vegetables as a child. Loved her dearly, but she’d cook those veggies within an inch of their lives! And the steaks were very tasty – with a pat of butter on top, for extra yum factor.
My mom’s Thanksgiving dressing was the best ever made–wonderful memories.
My favorite would be pot roast.
Mom’s scalloped potatoes and the tuna fish sandwiches my sister & I insisted on ๐
Mmmm, Chicken & Dumplings or fish & grits.
Fried Chicken,Mashed potatoes and Corn on the cob
Pierogies and cheese steaks.
Any meal with cornbread reminds me of home.
