Aunt Lou here.

Rush, rush, rush! That seems to be the theme these days. Can you relate?

My kids seem to be going through one growing spurt after another these days. They want to eat all day long, followed by long sleeping (this momma ain’t complaining about that!) and then a jump in clothing and shoe sizes! So I like having some yummy snacks around that they can gobble up! Iyla calls it chewy. When she says, “Mommy, I want chewy!” I know she wants some yummy Easy Crock Pot Honey Granola!

Recipe Notes:

  • I used good ol’ Sir Hamilton, my Hamilton Beach Programmable Insulated Slow Cooker, for this recipe. You can use your favorite 5-6 quart slow cooker. I tried using a 4-quart crock pot, but was afraid that I couldn’t have enough room for mixing it all up, so I moved it over to Sir Hamilton, and it worked perfectly.
  • This is great for a snack, dessert, to take to a party or even a quick breakfast on the road!

What kind of bran cereal are people using? Never bought or tasted one before, unless Raisin Bran Crunch counts. Thank you

I used something similar to Kellog’s All Bran cereal. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

      Hi Ashley!

I haven’t made this without the bran cereal. It would change the taste and texture quite a bit. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out.

Love this recipe!! The crockpot makes it so hassle-free and it comes out perfect. I will never buy granola at the store again!

I wanted to add that if you do not want to use honey, I substituted a mix of agave nectar and pure maple syrup and it turned out great. I used 1/2 cup of each; I was afraid that using the full amount called for in the recipe would make it too sweet. It worked just fine!

    Hi Reva!

You can use canola or vegetable oil. Enjoy!
