Leftover Ham Recipes

Cris here.

As I mentioned in our Crock Pot Ham and Cabbage post, we love left over ham recipes around here. And we also love cabbage. So when I was thinking of a great low carb recipe I could throw into my slow cooker I decided to convert our Crock Pot Pork Chops and Cabbage recipe to a leftover ham recipe. This is the electric pressure cooker version and is still one of my favorite was to use up extra ham left over when we use one of our whole ham recipes. This recipe is perfect for any electric pressure cooker, be it an Instant Pot, Crock Pot Express or Ninja Foodi.

I made this in my 6 quart ninja foodi. I pressure cooked on high for 10 minutes, 2 minutes natural release and then quick release. I’d say it was overdone. Still very delicious, but next time I think I’ll switch to 5-7 minutes high pressure and then quick release so I get more bite/crunch from the cabbage.
I used 1 cup of broth but it was pretty soupy. I wonder if I could use less because I’d prefer that. In this case we just drained off the excess broth until we got what we wanted.
I added some carrots and garlic. Also, I didn’t add any butter. The ham (which I had frozen) still had some of its cooking juices on it so I think that added some flavor and fat.
Truly, though, loved it and so, so simple.

I made this exactly as the recipe stated. The flavor is good but the cabbage is complete mush. I will try again but cutting the PC time down to 5 minutes.

Hi. I usually make my cabbage and ham with fresh green beans and cut potatoes. Would u suggest putting those in there with it all same time? Im worried they would get soggy?
