Aunt Lou here.

I was up visiting big sister and she needed to feed a crowd. And brilliant lady that she is, she said, “Hey! Make your Crock Pot Green Beans in an Instant Pot!” Mind. Blown. Folks, you can have green beans that taste like Gramma’s cooked-all-day-long green beans in less than a half hour (pressure building time and all!). You’re gonna love these Instant Pot Green Beans!

How to Make Green Beans in an Instant Pot

Pour in all your ingredients in a 6-quart electric pressure cooker and stir. Place the lid on, seal it and make sure the vent is closed. Set it for 8 minutes on manual. Let it natural release. Stir and serve. Easy as it gets!

Instant Pot Green Beans Notes:

  • Cris had French Cut Green Beans on hand at her house, so that is what I used. When I made the crock pot version of this recipe, I used Italian Cut Green Beans. You can use whatever kind of cut is your favorite!
  • As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • Electric pressure cookers can cook differently, our recipes should always be tested first in your own unit and time adjusted as needed.

Thank you for your kind words! It makes our day to hear that our readers love our recipes!

This recipe is for canned green beans. However, you can find the Instant Pot recipe for fresh green beans here: https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/how-to-cook-fresh-green-beans-in-an-instant-pot/. Enjoy!

My grandma always made green beans in the pressure pan. Fresh beans, bacon and 3 minutes at 15 lbs of pressure. Heaven on earth especially if we had new potatoes at the same time.
