Aunt Lou here.

When I first read Saucy Crock Pot Potatoes, I was thinking there would be cheese involved…but I was wrong! (Don’t tell Michael, he still thinks I am always right. 😉 ) It is actually a mixture of cream of celery soup, evaporated milk and butter with onion and salt and pepper. Yum!

Saucy Crock Pot Potatoes

This recipe was easy peasy to throw together, so you know that gives it high marks in my book. The “hardest” part is peeling and slicing potatoes, but with my peeler (it is like this one) and slicer (sorry I couldn’t find one like the one I have…I think Michael got it from the traveling salesman that stops by the office…yes, they still exist, and no, I didn’t realize that either until Michael told me he had one come to his office regularly!), that wasn’t even hard! And the results were so yummy!

Slow Cooker Recommendation

I used my 9 x13 casserole slow cooker made by Crock Pot for these Saucy Crock Pot Potatoes. I loved that I could spread out the potatoes evenly and make sure they all had some yummy sauce spread over them. Your favorite 5-6 quart slow cooker will work too.

Is there another option for the soup? I hate celery and can’t imagine using celery soup! Thanks in advance!

      Hi John!

We used to have a Recipe Box option on our site through ZipList. Unfortunately, that company no longer exists.

    Under ingredients, you show:

•4 c potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
    •1 c onion, sliced

But you never say what the “c” stands for. Can you help?

      Hi Jim!

In all our recipes, when you see “c” in the ingredient lists, it stands for cup. Enjoy!
