Aunt Lou here.

We love beef recipes around here. This Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I found in Gooseberry Patch’s Everyday Slow Cooker is a delicious recipe that your entire family will love! It make have a few more steps than most of the recipes I make (let’s face it, I love a good dump and go recipe!), but it is super easy and worth an extra step or two! And your house will smell amazing!

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

  • 2-3 lbs boneless beef round steak cubed or stew meat
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 oz pkg onion soup mix
  • 8 oz package sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • wide egg noodles, prepared
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

How to Make Beef Stroganoff in a Slow Cooker

  1. Heat your oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add in your beef
  2. Stir occasionally to brown your beef on all sides and cook for around 10 minutes
  3. Add your broth to the skillet and stir well
  4. In a 6-quart slow cooker (I used Corky, my Hamilton Beach Multi-Quart Slow Cooker), mix together your flour, garlic powder, pepper, paprika, oregano, thyme and basil
  5. Pour everything from your skillet into your slow cooker and stir well
  6. Add in your soup mix and can of soup and stir well
  7. Toss in your mushrooms and gently stir them in
  8. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-3.5 hours (it is done when your beef is tender)
  9. Add in your sour cream, stir and cook until it is heated through
  10. Serve over egg noodles that you have tossed in your butter

      Hi Linda!

Unfortunately we don’t. Since I don’t do WW, I wouldn’t want to figure the points wrong for you. Cris goes more in depth about why we don’t provide nutritional information here: https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/frequently-asked-questions-nutritional-information/

      Enjoy!

      Hi Marilyn!

Absolutely! I would measure out the soup and onion soup mix (separately) and cut them in half. Or you could try using the full amounts, if you want, and have more sauce. Let me know how it goes. Enjoy!

This sounds so good but I can’t stand sour cream because I am a super taster so I might just leave it out altogether. I’ve seen the substitutes for sour cream and I can’t eat any of them either. It’s a bummer being a super taster sometimes. I can’t wait to try this!

      Hi Gail!

Bummer! I’m guessing you’ve tried using plain Greek yogurt? (Make sure you use the plain. If you use the vanilla, then you are definitely gonna taste it!) If you try it without, let me know how it goes. Enjoy!
