How to Make Easy Pot Roast in a Slow Cooker
Aunt Lou here.
I absolutely love how simple it is to put together this Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast. I adjusted the recipe a bit from the way Cris made it. I wanted to add in a little more broth, and I wanted to use baby carrots. Not only do we love baby carrots in my house, but I don’t have to worry about peeling or cutting them up. So, it just saves me prep time. The result of this recipe was an incredible one pot meal that every single person in my house (my picky eater included) ate with a smile on their face. I hope you and whoever you share this with enjoy it just as much as we do!

What You Need for Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast
Ingredients Needed
- 2.5 lb chuck roast
- 1/2 cup red wine or beef broth
- 1/2 cup beef broth (If you use beef broth instead of red wine, you will use 1 cup of beef broth in total.)
- 1 oz ranch dip mix packet
- 1 oz Italian dressing mix packet
- 1.2 oz brown gravy mix packet
- 16 petite gold potatoes, washed (I have also seen this called baby potatoes.)
- 1 3/4 cups baby carrots
- 3 celery ribs, cut into chunks
Equipment Needed
- Measuring cups
- Scissors (to make opening your mix packets easier)
- Small colander, optional (for rinsing your potatoes
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- 6 quart slow cooker
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
