So when I saw the original recipe in Gooseberry Patch’s 303 ‘Round the Clock Recipes that I adapted into this Crock Pot Cheesy Sausage Potato Casserole, I knew I was gonna make it. Other than ommiting the onion I followed the instructions. And I liked this. Potatoes, meat, cheese – what’s not to like? (oh yeah, onion).
After 3:45 on high it was getting crispy around the edges which was great imo. But, my cheese almost entirely disappeared. Next time I’ll either not add the cheese until or add more cheese at the end of the cook time. Might add some pepper and garlic powder to the potatoes during assembly. That said, I enjoyed this recipe just fine as written.
No seasoning required? Walmart accidentally delivered a rope sausage and this looks easy.
You are correct. The butter, onion, cheese and seasonings in the sausage combine to make the flavor of the recipe. Enjoy!
Im making this tonight and just by the smell I know itโs going to taste amazing!! I canโt wait to eat it! I added some roughly chopped grilled chicken into the layers just for extra filling and to stretch it out a little more! I am trying a quite few of your recipes on your website this next week!
