Need a great dessert that you can throw together easily? This Crock Pot Cherry Delight from Gooseberry Patch’s Slow Cooking All Year ‘Round is just what you need! Oh. My. Yum. This dessert is good!
I’m a lucky girl. My husband and I agree on our favorite pie filling. (It’s the little things people. :))
I grew up in a house with a dad that loves all things peach, but somehow I ended up being a cherry pie filling girl. And that crazy brother-in-law of mine is an apple man. So that is why these Mini Pie Bites that Cris made were a HUGE hit this last Thanksgiving and Christmas. Seriously, I think over half of them were gone before we got the main meal prepared each holiday. She may not be allowed at Easter is she doesn’t have these in hand. 😉
Back to my house though…
We are in complete agreement here. Cherry pie filling is the choice of the James’ for sure! When I told Michael what was in this recipe, he was just as excited as I was…like I said, it is the little things in life!
This recipe is about as simple as it gets, so yummy that you just might not want to share and cost less than $5 for the whole thing! Woohoo! That’s a Mommy Score in my book!
And I GUESS if your favorite pie filling isn’t cherry, you can switch up the recipe and try it with your favorite pie filling!
Crock Pot Cherry Delight
Spray your crock pot with non-stick cooking spray.
Note: If you want it this recipe to feed more, I would make it in a larger crock pot. There is plenty of the topping to spread across a layer of pie filling in a large crock pot. If you don’t have a crowd to feed and want it thicker, throw it in a smaller crock pot.
Melt your butter and mix together with cake mix.
Pour you pie filling into your crock pot and spread evenly across the bottom.
Sprinkle cake mix mixture over pie filling.
Top with walnut pieces.
Cover and cook for 2-3 hours on low.
How easy is that?! Don’t worry…it can be our secret. 😉
