I fell in love with the flavor of basil pesto sauce with this delicious (and easy) soup recipe. I’ve been wanting to try more dishes with basil pesto sauce, and now you have this amazing Crock Pot Pesto Chicken Wraps recipe.

If you have looked around at many of my recipes, you know that I am all about easy recipes that taste great. I looked up a bunch of pesto chicken recipes to get ideas how I wanted put my recipe together. They all had many ingredients, and looked like they were wonderful, but I wanted something simpler. I thought I would give it a try with just a jar of basil pesto sauce since the flavor of the sauce is incredible. You know what? What You Will Need for Crock Pot Pesto Chicken Wraps

Ingredients Needed

  • 3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, trimmed (OR boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into thigh size pieces to keep the cooking time the same)
  • 8.1 oz jar basil pesto sauce
  • Sliced red bell peppers
  • Fresh baby spinach
  • Wrap of your choice (We used Italian herb or tomato basil wraps, but you can use your favorite wrap.)

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 4 to 5 hours on low or 2 hour to 2 hours and 30 minutes on high, rotating your insert halfway through your cooking time if your slow cooker does not cook evenly

  • Put your chicken in a 6 quart slow cooker.
  • Spread your basil pesto evenly over the top of the chicken.
  • Cover and cook 4 to 5 hours on low or 2 hour to 2 hours and 30 minutes on high, rotating your insert halfway through your cooking time if your slow cooker does not cook evenly.
  • Shred your chicken with two forks.
  • Serve chicken on your favorite wrap with sliced bell peppers and baby spinach.
