Aunt Lou here.

Ryder and Iyla attacked this Crock Pot Pizza Tater Tot Casserole! Michael wasn’t home tonight, so it was just me and the kiddos. Ryder wasn’t so sure about it when I first put it on the plate, but Iyla started eating it with such gusto that Ryder couldn’t resist. Then he said, “Mommy! You make GOOD tater tots!”

This Crock Pot Pizza Tater Tot Casserole is sure to be an instant family favorite!

So have some fun!

  • Recipe from Gooseberry Patch’s 101 Cozy Casseroles.
  • For this Crock Pot Pizza Tater Tot Casserole, I used my Casserole Crock Pot. It was perfect, but it was FULL. So if you don’t have one of these bad boys yet, I would recommend that you use a 5-6 quart slow cooker.

I haven’t tried this with cream of celery, but think it could work. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!

I would say the foil is simply to help seal the pot….Place foil over pot period. Then set the lid down as you would normally and that will be on top of the foil……

I prepared this last night at home and then brought it to my daughter for dinner. WE ALL LOVED IT!! So easy to make! I added freshly grated parmesan cheese and used yellow pepper as well as ground turkey and turkey pepperoni. This is a keeper! Thanks!!

I’m so glad it was as big of a hit at your house as it was at mine! You are a woman after my own heart with the fresh grated parmesan! Yum! I love how you can add to the recipe to fit your family’s pizza favorites! Thanks for sharing!

      Hi Linda!

Always check the manufacturer’s website for your specific crock. If it is not, then transfer to a broiler safe dish before putting it in your stove. Enjoy!

JUST CURIOUS, WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF USING THE FOIL? Have not tried this recipe yet, but sounds interesting for my picky grandchildren.

      Hi Alisa!

The original recipe called foil, so I followed the recipe. Hope your grandchildren enjoy this as much as my kids did!

Does the foil go on top of the food, or over the top of the crockpot (under the lid)?

      Hi Charlotte!

If you are using a casserole crock, your foil may touch your food because it is pretty full with this recipe, but you just need to place your foil on top of your crock. Enjoy!

I have it on now – and I placed the foil directly on the tater tots…. what about the lid of the crock pot – should the foil not touch the taters?

      Hi Joey!

Just put the foil on top of your crock pot and place the lid on top of the foil. Enjoy!

      Hi Joey!

This recipe came from Gooseberry Patch’s 101 Cozy Casseroles. The original recipe called for the foil, so I followed the recipe. Enjoy!

We do not provide that information, but if you google recipe calculators, you should be able to figure it out based on the brands/ingredients you choose to use. Enjoy!
