Aunt Lou here.

Cris and I have both mentioned before that Dad loves peaches. When I saw these Crock Pot Spiced Peaches in Gooseberry Patch’s Slow Cooker Christmas Favorites, I knew I had to make it and share the recipe with you (and with Momma!).

Ingredients forย Crock Pot Spiced Peaches

  • 29 oz can peach slices in syrup
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoon butter, diced
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • cinnamon, nutmeg and ground cloves to taste
  • Optional: raisins, prunes, figs or dates
  • vanilla ice cream

How to Make Spiced Peaches in a Crock Pot

  1. Put your peaches (undrained), brown sugar, butter, vanilla, spices and any raisins, prunes, figs or dates that you would like in your 2 or 3-quart crock pot (I used Dotty, myย 2.5-quart polka dot crock pot) and stir gently
  2. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours
  3. Put a scoop of ice cream in a bowl and top with a couple peach slices and some of the sauce

Crock Pot Spiced Peaches Notes

  • This is a super easy recipe to personalize. Put in as little or as much as you like of the spices, raisins, prunes, figs and dates. Make it your own!
  • If you like melty ice cream (like me), then this will be perfect straight out of the crock pot. If you don’t like your ice cream melting, you can let it cool a bit before you add it to your ice cream.
  • As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and shouldย always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

      Hi Cookinmama!

I haven’t tried it yet with fresh or frozen peaches, but if you do, let me know what you think! Enjoy!

I am wondering if this recipe would work for figs instead of peaches. We have fig trees & there are only so many recipes I have found for figs. Aside from fig preserves or jam, I have found a fig jam cake recipe, but I would like to have something else to use up the figs. Please let me know if you think this would work, or if you have any other fig recipes.
    Thanks,

      Hi Ruth!

I haven’t tried this recipes with figs only, but the cookbook had using figs as an option in place of or in addition to the raisins I used. Enjoy!

For the Crock Pot Spiced Peaches, right before serving (adults), add 2 -3 tablespoons of rum. Yum!!
