I have made this recipe many times. It is soooo delicious and so easy! Thanks for a great meal 👍🏼
Outstanding!!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe! It is one of my favorites!
Can I sub out the french onion soup for anything that doesn’t contain dairy? I am trying to make a dairy free version of this since my partner is lactose intolerant.
We haven’t tried this with any dairy free substitutes, but think that you could try beef broth. If you give it a try, let us know how it goes!
Your right easy and perfect. Thank you
This is a really great meal for a large family. There is only 2 of us, how well does this freeze?
Hi Kelly-
I haven’t tried freezing it, however, if you see the blue number of servings in the recipe card, you can click it and reduce the servings and it will reduce the ingredients to meet your needs. Cooking times and slow cooker sizes may need to be adjusted but it will help you figure how to make a smaller batch. If you cut in half, I would just use a smaller slow cooker and/or keep an eye on it while it cooks so that it doesn’t overcook with less ingredients in the pot. Hope that helps!
I want to cut this up into 2-3 in. pieces, what changes do I need to make to prepare this meat?
If you have 1.5 lb of meat, how long do you pressure cook it for?
Hi Cris, I’m attempting to make this recipe but my pressure cooker doesn’t have a browning/searing function. Would I use the saute button instead? Also, should I let the pot come to a boil with or without the lid before adding the noodles? I know it’s a silly question but I’m fairly new to the pressure cooker. Thanks for the recipe!
Hi Carol!
The saute feature should work fine and we brought ours to a boil with the lid off. Hope that helps! Enjoy!!
Did you use Campells CONDENSED French onion soup & Consume(that’s the only kind I can find) and if so, did you mix each can with a can of water before putting in pot with meat? THANK YOU. And would you have a recipe if I used 1 1/2 lb. of meat instead of 3lb.
Hi John-
We used the condensed soups without adding the water. We will always indicate if the water needs added but most of the time we do not add water when using condensed soups as an ingredient. Hope that helps!
Hi Cris,

Thanks so much for stopping by Miz Helen!
I made this recipe tonite, but my grocery store did not have frozen egg noodles. I substituted Anne’s flat dumplings and did everything else per the recipe, except I removed the beef while the dumplings cooked and thickened the sauce with cornstarch slur. Flavor was great and so easy. I might add baby carrots next time for a one dish meal.
