How to Make Homemade Chicken Noodles in a Ninja Foodi
Cris here.
This is one of those family recipes that my family has made for years. We just love that our electric pressure cookers make it easier to make this classic dish.
We have often shared slow cooker chicken noodles and electric pressure cooker chicken noodles recipes with pre-made noodles and we love how easy it is to throw those recipes together. However, on special occasions THIS is the dish that Mikey makes for the family. Mikey will make up a batch of his Mom’s tried and true homemade noodles. So, he decided to share the way he likes to make us up a batch of Homemade Chicken Noodles in our Ninja Foodi electric pressure cooker.
Recipe Notes
- This recipe is adapted from Mikey’s Mom’s Old Fashioned Chicken Noodles Recipe.
- We use a whole chicken in this recipe, however, you can use whatever cuts of chicken your family prefers. You may need to adjust pressure cooking time to match the cut of chicken you are cooking. For example 3 lbs of boneless skinless thighs will only take 15 minutes under pressure.
- The flour needed for making noodles will depend on many factors including humidity. Use 1 cup of flour to begin with and gradually add more as needed until your dough is no longer sticky. You want an elastic dough.
- For best results, dry your noodles overnight. However, in a pinch you can allow them to dry for at least an hour while your chicken is cooking.
- You can make this recipe in any 6 to 6.5 quart electric pressure cooker. We like to use our Ninja Foodi and Instant Pot
General Notes
- We’ve tested this recipe in a 6 quart Instant Pot and 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi. When pressure cooking with larger pressure cookers, you may need to add 1/2 cup to 1 cup more liquid to reach pressure. Make sure not to overfill smaller pressure cookers past their max lines.

- As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
- Finally, all electric pressure cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own electric pressure cooker and time adjusted as needed.
