How to Make Low Carb Crab Soup in an Electric Pressure Cooker
Cris here. I absolutely LOVE our Crock Pot Crab Soup, so the other day I decided to try making it in my Instant Pot and the results were the same super flavorful treat! If at all possible, I highly recommend you do not skip the cream cheese topping! It absolutely MAKES this soup.
Low Carb Instant Pot Crab Soup Notes
- We find lump crab in most grocery stores in the canned meat aisle. Some stores also carry premium quality crab in the refrigerated seafood section.
- This soup can be made with 8 oz to 16 oz crab depending on your tastes and budget.
- You can use imitation crab in this soup, however, it will increase the carb count significantly.
- We use a low carb marinara sauce to keep the carb count low on this soup.
- You can use any 6 quart electric pressure cooker to make this soup. We have used our Instant Pot and Ninja Foodi.
General Notes
- We’ve tested this recipe in a 6 quart Instant Pot and 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi. When pressure cooking with larger pressure cookers, you may need to add 1/2 cup to 1 cup more liquid to reach pressure. Make sure not to overfill smaller pressure cookers past their max lines.

- As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
- Finally, all electric pressure cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own electric pressure cooker and time adjusted as needed.
