How to Make No Boil Mashed Potatoes in an Instant Pot
To get started, all you have to do is peel and cut your potatoes into small cubes. Put your potatoes in your Instant Pot and pour in your chicken broth. Seal your lid and cook on manual for 8 minutes. While it is cooking, mix together your remaining ingredients. Once it is done cooking, quick release. When it is safe to open your lid, open up and either add in your cream cheese mixture and mash with a potato masher, or pour your potatoes and cream cheese mixture into a mixing bowl and mash with your mixer on low speed until you reach your desired consistency. And that’s it!
Instant Pot No Boil Mashed Potatoes Notes:
- I have made this a couple times and have had any sputtering of liquid when quick releasing immediately, however, if you do, close the valve immediately and give it a few minutes before trying again. Do NOT do what Mikey and I do in this video!
- No, I did not miss a step. Not only are these no boil mashed potatoes, they are also no drain! The chicken broth cooks into the potatoes which really takes these potatoes up a notch! Yum!
- You can use a potato masher or a mixer. I know some people are highly against using a mixer. That is how Momma always made them when I was growing up, so that is how I like them. If you don’t like them that way, grab a masher and mash away!
