If you need an easy to make side dish that isn’t going to take up space on your stove top, check out these No Boil Crock Pot Mashe Potatoes. They are simple to make and taste amazing. This recipe makes quite a few servings, so it is perfect to make for a potluck or holiday dinner.

I know that many people have a preferred way to mash their potatoes. I prefer to use my mixer, but I know others do not like that at all. So, feel free to mash your potatoes with a masher or mixer, whatever way you love most. The end result will still be a delicious, flavorful side dish for all to enjoy!

What You Will Need for No Boil Crock Pot Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients Needed

  • 5 lbs red potatoes
  • 3/4 chicken broth
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2/3 cup butter, softened and sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment Needed

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 10 to 15 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 4 to 8 hours on low or 2 to 4 hours on high, the timing depends on how large or small you cube your potatoes
  • Additional Time Needed: 5 minutes

Instructions

  • Peel (if desired) and cube 5 lbs redskin potatoes and place them in a 6 quart crock pot. (The smaller the cubes, the shorter the cook time. The larger the cubes, the longer the cook time.)
  • Pour 3/4 cup chicken broth over all your potatoes.
  • Cover and cook on high for 2-4 hours or low for 4-8 hours, they are ready to be mashed when they are fork tender.
  • Mash the potatoes with 3 cloves garlic, 1 cup sour cream, 8 oz pkg cream cheese, 2/3 cup butter (softened and sliced) and salt and pepper to taste
  • Return to crock pot to keep warm until serving.
